Filipino Pro-Casino Group Greets President

PHILIPPINES – As reported by the Baguio Sun Star: "Hundreds of pro-casino rallyists greeted President Arroyo at the Loakan Airport Wednesday afternoon in their bid to get the support of the President regarding the planned casino set up inside Camp John Hay.

"As early as 1 p.m., the pro-casino rallyists, mostly barangays officials, gathered at the main gate of the airport carrying placards expressing support to the casino.

"…Arroyo will open the 18th National Advertising Congress Thursday morning at the newly built CAP Convention Center at Camp John Hay, the site of the planned casino operation.

"Mayor Bernardo Vergara, who was part of the welcoming party, told reporters he submitted the resolution of the Association of Barangay Council (ABC) expressing support for the casino operation to the President…"
