Felipe Mojave becomes latest PokerStars ambassador23 July 2015(PRESS RELEASE) -- One of Brazil’s most popular poker players, Felipe Mojave, was today announced as the newest ambassador for PokerStars, an Amaya Inc. brand. Mojave joins the elite ranks of Team PokerStars Pro Andre Akkari and football superstars Neymar Jr and Ronaldo Nazário as the faces of PokerStars in Brazil. Mojave, who will be known as a ‘Friend of PokerStars,’ is no stranger to success on the poker table, having clocked up nearly $1 million in career earnings, including many cashes on the European Poker Tour (EPT), Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT), and the Brazilian Series of Poker (BSOP). He also experienced a deep run in the recent WSOP Main Event where Neymar Jr turned up in Las Vegas as a show of support. “I’m very happy to see my friend Felipe join the team!” said Neymar Jr. “We’ve played lots of poker together and I’ve learned a lot from him. Now the world will get to see what I already know – he’s one of the very best.” Aside from playing poker, Mojave is also known to provide thoughtful commentary alongside Andre Akkari on Brazilian poker TV shows such as Somos Poker on Fox Sports and Poker Night on Band Sports. Mojave’s first appearance wearing the red spade patch will be at this week’s BSOP event in São Paulo, Brazil. He’s scheduled to play the R$2,600 Main Event, as well as the Neymar Jr Charity Home Game, which will be streamed online at PokerStars.tv on July 26 at 16.00 Brasília time (GMT -3).
