Feds continue video poker probe of NC shefiff

HAYWOOD COUNTY, North Carolina -- As reported by the Smoky Mountain News: "Haywood County Sheriff Tom Alexander, who is the subject of a federal video poker investigation, said he is cooperating in the investigation and has 'nothing to hide.'

"Alexander declined further comment to The Smoky Mountain News.

"A corruption case involving video poker machines recently brought down the former Buncombe County sheriff for accepting bribes in exchange for ignoring the illegal gambling operations. The same investigators are now targeting Alexander..."
