OCK YARD OUTDOOR STAGE GETS PUMPED UP WITH FREE CONCERT BY STARSHIP FEATURING MICKEY THOMAS

INDIO, California -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- The Rock Yard outdoor concert stage at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino fires up for the spring and summer seasons on April 24th. Just two weeks after that on Saturday, May 8th, music heavy hitters Starship featuring Mickey Thomas take the stage for a free "Rock Yard on Super Steroids" show at 9:00p.m. Music fans familiar with 1980s radio will remember that Starship (then called Jefferson Starship) was one of the bands that ruled the airwaves. Mickey Thomas, who's been performing in bands since the age of 15, sang lead vocals for the group that was known around the world. He sang several duets with Grace Slick, including the number one hit "We Built This City." "Sara" sung by Thomas also hit number one on the charts.

Make plans to rock out to Starship at the Rock Yard on Saturday, May 8th. This free show is likely to fill up quickly and getting there early is strongly recommended. The Rock Yard outdoor concert stage is an amphitheater-style area at the resort featuring two stages side by side. As one band finishes its set, the other starts up its rock and roll anthems right away. No set up or sound check time is needed. Audiences of more than 3,000 people at one show frequented the Rock Yard during the 2009 season. Grassy areas and ample seating is available for Rock Yard attendees who get to the shows early. Rock Yard outdoor concerts are always free and open to music lovers ages 18 and older.
