Fairground Gaming Holdings Plc's initial response to the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act6 October 2006The Board of Fairground Gaming Holdings plc ('Fairground') makes the following statement in light of the passing by the United States Congress on 30 September 2006, of The Safe Port Act, which included the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act ('the Act'). Fairground notes the developments in the USA and is seeking clarity on the full implications of the Act. Whilst continuing to monitor the situation, Fairground intends to proceed with appropriate caution in evaluating opportunities for further geographical diversification. Fairground Gaming Fairground Gaming (www.fairgroundgaming.com) was admitted to AIM on 4 October 2005 with the intention of building a broad-based, diversified gaming portfolio by acquisition and thereafter by organic growth. It will achieve this by: § acting as a consolidator of the fragmented online gaming sector; § using the extensive sector and technology contacts of its directors to acquire majority interests in a portfolio of synergistic, cash-generative online gaming businesses; § targeting small and medium-sized operators in areas such as online casinos, poker, bingo and skill-based gaming; and § Fairground Gaming completed its maiden acquisition of The Spin Palace Group on 16 June 2006. |
