Eyecon negotiates deal with DWG to license LuckyTap mechanic

22 May 2023

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Innovative game developer Design Works Gaming has agreed to a deal with Playtech to license the use of its instant win mechanic LuckyTap for use on Eyecon and Playtech’s portfolio of games.

The deal will see the LuckyTap mechanic being integrated into new instant win games using some of the leading slot themes on the market, including Fluffy Favourites, which has been one of the top-performing slot games in the U.K. for over 15 years. The agreement will also allow Eyecon and Playtech to design and develop new games using the LuckyTap mechanic.

“LuckyTap is a proven game-changer for the online casino industry. We're thrilled to be licensing it to Eyecon, a company with a reputation for innovation in iGaming. With this partnership, we believe LuckyTap will continue to revolutionize the landscape of online casino, offering players a more engaging and interactive experience than ever before," said Troy Zurawski, founder and CEO of Design Works Gaming.

After proving its success on social sites, DWG expanded the LuckyTap mechanic onto real-money sites with enormous success. With a complete departure from the symbol matching mechanics of typical slots, LuckyTap has paved a new road for this genre of instant win games and proved its popularity with players. This ergonomically designed product casts aside traditional reels and lines. Players ‘tap’ to set the game in motion, which then sets off a short, eye-catching animation ending in either a miss or a win. Wins are frequent, and this in conjunction with multiplier features, bonus picks and Free Games makes LuckyTap games a rewarding and exciting experience for players.

“DWG have created a really exciting product with LuckyTap and have completely re-invented the instant win game experience. We are thrilled to be the first external studio be able to create a LuckyTap game. The opportunities this opens up for game development are huge, and we can’t wait to start releasing new games with this innovative mechanic," said Jordan Rosamond, Head of Product at Eyecon.
