Expert to explain super-casino choice

UNITED KINGDOM – As reported by the Blackpool Today: "The planning experts who shattered Blackpool's supercasino dream were tonight expected to get a rough ride in Parliament.

"Prof Stephen Crow, chairman of the Casino Advisory Panel (CAP), has been invited to explain the recommendation of Manchester as the preferred site for the UK's first Las Vegas-style gambling mecca.

"Many Lords are unhappy the CAP appeared to earlier selection guidelines which stated the casino should be away from residential areas in a designated tourist destination.

"…However, the House of Lords, which will get the final vote on the location, has asked Prof Crow and leading members of the Department of Culture to address a select committee of peers…"
