Exec: More than just gambling at Sands BethWorks5 December 2007BETHLEHEM, Pennsylvania -- As reported by Pennsylvania Express-Times: "Las Vegas Sands Corp.'s top executive in Bethlehem touched Monday on all that will make the $800 million casino complex under construction on South Side more than a slots parlor. "'Our theory in why we build large, integrated resorts is there's more to do than gaming,' Sands BethWorks Gaming LLC President Robert DeSalvio told about 100 people during a community meeting at Cathedral Church of the Nativity. "...Slated to open in part in spring 2009 with a full opening expected by the following September, the 2.3-million-square-foot facility is planned to feature 5,000 slots and video gaming machines, a 304-room hotel, some 200,000 square feet of retail space and a 50,000-square-foot multipurpose event center. "A steak house, brewpub and other bars and restaurants will rim the casino floor, forming what DeSalvio called an energized perimeter..." |
