Ex-Jueteng Workers Asked to Not Collect Bets

PHILIPPINES – As reported by the Philippines Sun Star: "The Philippine National Police (PNP) in Pampanga is discouraging former jueteng bet collectors from acting as agents of Lotto and Easy-Two bettors.

"This was learned from Pampanga police director Senior Superintendent Leonardo 'Dindo' Espina during a press conference at the City Hall Friday.

"Espina said he has already instructed the chiefs of police in the province to discourage the act, which according to him, is being prohibited under a directive issued by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).

"…He however admitted that the PNP is having difficulty implementing the PCSO directive as it lacks penal clause…"
