Everett casino environmental permit appeal delays groundbreaking26 February 2016EVERETT, Massachusetts -- Wynn's Resorts planned Everett casino and hotel has run into problems with neighbouring civic administrators and is now, in the words of the company, "effectively on hold", the Boston Globe is reporting. The planned construction timeline has been interrupted by environmental permit appeals instigated by the Somerville Mayor, the report said. Even though the environmental permit has been approved, an appeal was launched by Somerville's Mayor on several issues including traffic, according to the Boston Globe. Mayor Joe Curtatone has made four other legal attempts to oppose the casino to date, the report said. |
