EPT Prague set to be one of PokerStars' biggest ever live poker festivals6 November 2014ONCHAN, Isle of Man -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- The European Poker Tour (EPT) Prague Poker Festival is set to be one of the biggest live events PokerStars has ever held, when it kicks off at the Hilton Prague on December 7, 2014. Joining forces with the Eureka Poker Tour yet again, this year’s festival will feature 59 separate events including a wide range of new tournament formats. There will be 228 tournament staff working at the event (a PokerStars live event record), more than 140 poker tables, and EPT-run cash games operating around the clock. EPT President Edgar Stuchly said: “The Prague Poker Festival always attracts a large number of players who play both tournaments and cash games. This year’s festival has potential to be even bigger than last season where both the Eureka and EPT Main Events shattered records.” Last season’s EPT Prague Poker Festival attracted nearly 9,000 entries generating just under €13 million in prize money. PACKED SCHEDULE OF NEW EVENTS Prague will play host to the €50,000 Super High Roller tournament for the first time. Running December 9-11, this will be the highest buy-in live poker event ever held in the Czech Republic, certain to attract a roster of big names from all over the poker world. Another first is the launch of Midnight Turbo events. This is the first time the EPT has hosted live tournaments starting at midnight – buy-ins will range from €300 to €1,000. Special events galore are taking place throughout the 11-day festival including three EPT Omaha Championships, the first ever EPT junior’s event (players aged 18-21) a Czech debut for the €200 senior’s event (players aged 50 or over) and the Finnish Championships (Finnish players only).
