Epsom wishing well tips this year's supposed Derby winner1 June 2016(PRESS RELEASE) -- The ancient Epsom wishing well, famed for tipping Derby winners, has tipped this year's (supposed) victor. The well on Chalk Lane was seen to be bearing it's selection for 2016 earlier today, and the horse is Ulysses. Jamie Loughead, Star Sports spokesman, comments: "We all know the local gypsies in Epsom have been tipping Derby horses for two hundred years on this old well, and we've been desperate to find out the name of this year's pick so we could push its price! Ulysses obviously had a great chance, but with the gypsy curse of being tipped on the wishing well, we've pushed our price from 7/1 to 8/1."
