English player prevails at 2022 Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open2 December 2022(PRESS RELEASE) -- After this month’s “Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open” (RRPO) at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, it’s Andrew Wilson of Bolton, England who walks away with $785,800 after winning first place in the $3,500 World Poker Tour (WPT) Championship. Wilson bested 1,541 entries in the series finale, winning his first major live tournament title. This year, he broke through with a major victory in a live tournament, defeating Josh Kay in a heads-up battle on Wednesday night to win the RRPO Championship. The tournament generated a prize pool worth nearly $5 million easily eclipsing the $2 million guarantee. Championship Final Table Results: 1st: Andrew Wilson (Bolton, England) $785,800 + $10,400 WPT World Championship Seat 2nd: Josh Kay (Delray Beach, Fla.) $525,000 3rd: Chad Eveslage (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) $390,000 4th: Brian Altman (Boston, Mass.) $290,000 5th: Gediminas Uselis (Loma Linda, Lithuania) $219,000 6th: Robel Andemichael (Whiteplanes, Md.) $167,000 The 44 primary event RRPO kicked off on Nov. 16 with a $400 Deep Stack NLH. The series opener drew 6,134 entries, doubling the $1 million guaranteed prize pool. The event concluded with Peter Hsu of Brooksville, Fla. winning $191,223. In addition to Wilson, other signature event winners include: Duff Charette (Ottawa, Canada.), winning the $600 Deep Stack NLH for $76,075 Frank Lagodich (Canton, Ohio) winning the $5,000 Deep Stack NLH for $133,241 Peter Hsu (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.), winning the $400 Deep Stack Opening event for $191,223 Sergio Aido (London, England), winning the $25,500 High Roller NLH for $500,000 Poker action will return to Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla. in the New Year with the Lucky Hearts Poker Open (LHPO) Jan. 12 through Jan. 24, 2023, headlined by the Deep Stack NLH series opener with a $1 million guarantee and the WPT NLH Championship boasting a $2 million guarantee.
