English Only at Manitoba Casinos

MANITOBA – As reported by the Canadian Press: "Manitoba Lotteries has decided it's a gamble for employees or customers to speak anything but English at the province's two casinos.

"Lotteries spokeswoman Susan Olynik says staff are required to speak English during work hours, but can speak their own language during breaks.

"The Crown corporation, fearing cheating, is also insisting customers speak English at gaming tables -- although the policy doesn't extend to slot machines and bingo…"
