Encore Boston Harbor to launch free shuttle service

22 March 2019

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Encore Boston Harbor is launching a seven-day-a-week shuttle service from the MBTA’s Wellington and Malden Center Stations, providing comfortable, fast and reliable access to the Five-Star, $2.6 billion resort. The shuttles, which will begin running mid-2019, will operate year-round and are at no cost to the public.

The shuttle from the Wellington MBTA Station will run 24 hours daily, departing every 10 to 20 minutes and traveling directly to Encore Boston Harbor. The shuttle from the Malden Center MBTA Station will depart every 20 minutes from 5 a.m. to 12:30 a.m., making a stop at Wellington Station on the way to Encore Boston Harbor.

Wellington and Malden Center are both on the MBTA Orange Line. Encore guests are encouraged to take the MBTA and shuttle, as parking at the resort will be limited. Malden Center and Wellington Stations also have parking facilities on a first-come, first-serve basis.

“The new Orange Line shuttles provide a luxury ride to and from our front door, with service frequent enough to meet the needs of any guest,” said Robert DeSalvio, President of Encore Boston Harbor. “We encourage everyone to take advantage of these and other shared transportation options to make the most of their visit to the resort.”

All shuttles hold 58 passengers and are ADA wheelchair accessible. Seats will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The Orange Line shuttles are part of a slate of new, high-quality transportation options Encore Boston Harbor plans to introduce to serve guests visiting from within Boston, surrounding communities, and out of state. These services will include water taxis, luxury coach shuttles and a bike share program.
