Encore Boston Harbor receives Category 1 sports wagering license9 December 2022(PRESS RELEASE) -- Following a presentation yesterday by representatives of Encore Boston Harbor (EBH) and a review of the application submitted by Wynn MA, LLC, the Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) voted unanimously to approve the first Category 1 sports wagering operator license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The Massachusetts Gaming Commission set a goal to launch retail sports wagering at the three casinos in the Commonwealth, which are eligible for Category 1 sports wagering licenses, in January. Encore Boston Harbor now must obtain a certificate of operations and meet additional conditions before bets can be accepted. More information on a universal launch day for retail sports betting will be released in the coming weeks.
