Emeryville casino director charged in money structuring

EMERYVILLE, California -- An Emeryville casino director has been charged with in relation to a recent raid, The San Francisco Chronicle reported.

Hoa The Nguyen, 47, was the Asian gaming director at the Oaks Card Club and is accused of "structuring money transactions to avoid detection", the report said.

Raids took place at the casino and Nguyen's home last week and he is being investigated in relation to a "criminal organization involved in drug trafficking and extortionate lending" at the Oaks Card Club and Artichoke Joe's according to an affidavit quoted in the San Francisco Chronicle report.
