Electronic Game Card Gets Iowa Lottery Order18 December 2003NEW YORK – (Press Release) -- Electronic Game Card Inc, (OTC Bulletin Board: EGMI) developer of digital pocket gamecards, today announced an order for its accumulator gamecard format for a promotion to be run by the Iowa State Lottery early in 2004. The EGC Gamecard format will be retailed by Iowa State Lottery at a price of $20 a unit. John Bentley, Chairman of EGC Inc, commented: "This is a significant order. The lottery market is one of the distinct global, multi-billion dollar markets we have identified for our technology. The Iowa State Lottery order represents a further important step in popularising EGC Gamecard's unique technology in the lottery playing market." Electronic Game Card Inc, and its operating company Electronic Game Card Ltd, have developed a proprietary interactive credit-card-sized gaming product and format that has multiple applications for the US and international lottery, charitable, and sales promotions items markets, including direct mail. The order was obtained through EGC Inc's exclusive lottery distributor Scientific Games International, a subsidiary of Scientific Games Corporation (Nasdaq: SGMS). EGC distributes its products through distribution agreements with leading suppliers in each of its targeted markets. EGC has a distribution agreement with Scientific Games International, Inc. under which Scientific Games has five year exclusive rights to distribute EGC gamecards to lotteries in the USA and worldwide. Scientific Games International is a subsidiary of Scientific Games Corporation (Nasdaq: SGMS), one of the leading global suppliers to the $30 billion instant lottery industry. Likewise, in the sales promotion arena, EGC has an exclusive two year distribution deal with Clegg International of California one of the largest direct mail firms in the US. The design of EGC's credit card sized games allows them to be programmed with multiple plays and wins for play over days or weeks. This offers greater flexibility of pricing and achieves greater ROI for EGC's business customers, as well as greater value per play for the consumer. |
