Eldorado Resorts names Executive Director of Community Relations for Reno29 August 2016(PRESS RELEASE) -- Eldorado Resort Casino, Silver Legacy Resort Casino and Circus Circus Hotel Casino - Reno are pleased to announce Cindy Carano has been named as the Executive Director of Community Relations for Reno. In her new role, Carano will plan and oversee community relations and engagement programs for all three Reno Resorts. Carano will also be responsible for identifying trends and issues in community relations and work as a liaison with public policy offices. "Cindy has demonstrated the inspiration and passion to make a difference in our community," said Glenn Carano, General Manager of the three properties. "We believe through her leadership we can leverage our time, expertise and financial contributions between our downtown Casino Resorts." Ms. Carano graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas College of Hotel Administration in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree. As the youngest child of Eldorado founder Don Carano, she began learning the intricacies of hotel and casino operations at a young age by working in a range of areas including reservations, front desk and food and beverage. After graduating from UNLV, she joined the Hyatt Regency San Francisco where she held her first management position as a corporate management trainee. Most recently, Carano served as the Executive Director of Hotel Operations at the Eldorado and Silver Legacy. A committed member of the Reno community, Carano was the Nevada Women's Fund Chairperson in 1997 and held a board member position there for six years along with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Nevada, the American Lung Association Advisory Council, the Nevada Hotel Lodging Association, the Nevada Commission on Tourism, the Regional Alliance for Downtown and the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority. As well, she has played an active role in the Partners in Education Program with Wooster High School since its formation in the 1980s. "Our team members are our extended family," said Ms. Carano. "As we continue to invest in our Reno Resorts, we must also continue to invest in our communities to secure quality education and opportunities. I look forward to leading that effort." |
