Edmonton Casino Project Stirs More Controversy

EDMONTON, Alberta – As reported by CBC: "Plans for a casino in downtown Edmonton continue to stir controversy.

"The owners of the Baccarat casino at 101 St. and 104 Ave. want to build a new casino three blocks to the west.

"It would be a bigger casino with most of the parking for patrons underground and would be built on land set aside for a park.

"…Barry Johns is the architect of an apartment building right beside the site where the new casino could be built and says if the plan is approved, it won't help with downtown redevelopment…"
