East Chicago Challenges Casino Renewal18 April 2005EAST CHICAGO, Indiana – As reported by the Northwest Indiana: "The fronts in the city's war for control of more than $8 million a year in casino money have shifted toward Indianapolis. "The city of East Chicago last week filed a formal objection with the Indiana Gaming Commission challenging the renewal and transfer of Harrah's riverboat license to East Chicago Resorts. The city argues the renewal and transfer must be conditioned on Mayor George Pabey's development plan as passed by the city's Common Council.
