Earth Expo and Convention Center open at Mohegan Sun25 May 2018(PRESS RELEASE) -- Mohegan Sun embarked on an $80 million, 250,000 square-foot expansion in March of 2017 that is now set to open as Earth Expo & Convention Center. Hosted by Mohegan Sun and Mohegan tribal officials, a special ribbon cutting is set to take place to inaugurate the new addition. Earth Expo features 125,000 square-feet of column-free, continuous space, with natural light, eight loading docks and up to the minute technology. The space immediately becomes the prime location in the Northeast for an array of trade, consumer and association trade shows & events, of which many are already booked for 2018 & 2019. Earth Expo is just one facet of the enormous expansion at Mohegan Sun, as the overall Convention Center touts 15 high-tech meeting rooms, a new Executive Boardroom, ample pre-function space, a 20,000 square-foot Earth Ballroom, a 3,500 square-feet wrap-around outdoor terrace and 20,000 square-feet earmarked for entertainment or dining space. More details to be discussed on Wednesday, 30 May. The ribbon cutting will take place on Wednesday, 30 May 2018 at 11 a.m. at Earth Expo. Kevin Brown “Red Eagle,” Mohegan Tribal Chairman; Ray Pineault, President & General Manager, Mohegan Sun; Jeff Hamilton, Assistant General Manager, Mohegan Sun, will attend. Representatives from A/Z Corporation, the general contractor, and KPF, the architect, will also be onsite. |
