Dwight Yoakam returns to Hard Rock Tulsa May 19

2 March 2016

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The 21-time nominated, multiple Grammy Award-winner Dwight Yoakam returns to The Joint inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa on May 19.

Tickets start at $45 and go on sale March 17.

Since 1985, Yoakam has released more than 20 albums and compilations that have sold more than 25 million copies. He has 12 gold albums and nine platinum or multiplatinum albums, including the triple-platinum “This Time.” Five of those albums have topped Billboard's Country Albums chart, with another 15 landing in the Top 10. Nearly 40 of Yoakam's singles have charted, with 14 peaking in the Top 10, including the hits “Honky Tonk Man,” “Please, Please Baby,” “Little Ways,” “I Sang Dixie,” “It Only Hurts When I Cry” and “Fast as You.”

A country legend who deftly marries hard country and rock and roll, Yoakam recently released his latest album, “Second Hand Heart,” on Warner Bros. Records/Reprise. The brilliant self-produced album brings his distinctive, supple vocals to life with a loose, spontaneous feel, perfectly complimenting a collection of fresh songs about surviving and hope. A deep knowledge of music history seeps into his own sonic playbook on this record, with hints of Elvis, The Everly Brothers, The Beatles and The Beach Boys, among other influences.
