DraftKings officially opens new office in Las Vegas

22 March 2023

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Today, DraftKings Inc. unveiled its brand new, state-of-the art office in Southwest Las Vegas. The 90,000-square-foot technology hub located at UnCommons, Matter Real Estate Group’s 40-acre modern workplace and stylized mixed-use community, will house more than 1,000 DraftKings employees. Occupying much of an entire building at UnCommons, the Las Vegas office will be DraftKings’ second-largest office in the United States.

“Together with UnCommons, we’ve successfully created a world-class workplace environment,” said Graham Walters, Chief People Officer, DraftKings. “True to DraftKings’ DNA, this technologically advanced infrastructure will help foster innovation, allow employees to enhance relationships with one another and increase performance as we deepen our presence in the surrounding Las Vegas area.”

Designed by world-class visionaries IA Interior Architects, the Las Vegas office is comprised of more than 130 dedicated sports trading desks surrounded by full multimedia walls customized in a stadium seating arrangement, a 7,500-square-foot fully stocked cafeteria and event space, a custom casino training pit, a 500-square-foot interactive putt-view putting green, private and public outdoor spaces, and mothers’ rooms. DraftKings’ Las Vegas office will also provide amenity spaces for employees, including an on-site barber shop and salon, and a manicure/pedicure lounge.

“DraftKings is leading the way to meet the needs of its team members and addressing the modern workplace head on,” says Jim Stuart, partner at Matter Real Estate Group, the developers behind UnCommons. “Increasingly, we believe employees are seeking an experience that extends beyond the desk and into a community of amenities, inclusion and social connection. UnCommons delivers on that promise, and we are grateful that DraftKings is expanding its presence in Las Vegas.”

With floor-to-ceiling windows, the office space is open and airy, with an abundance of natural daylight, and provides views of the Las Vegas surroundings. Located just 15 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip and Harry Reid International Airport, the space is outfitted with a live ticker that displays live sports scores and DraftKings odds, 14 conference rooms, multiple breakout spaces for collaborative work and furnished outdoor space on every floor.

UnCommons, a first-of-its kind mixed-use development in southwest Las Vegas, has begun to open its Phase I office and retail spaces, with Phase II spaces now under construction. When completed, the stylized urban campus is expected to be comprised of more than 500,000 square feet of modern office space; more than 830 inspired residential units; an entertainment venue; health and fitness studios; a pedestrian trail; public art; a multi-purpose conference center; upscale lifestyle destinations; and a stellar lineup of food and beverage options, such as: The Sundry, a distinctive culinary experience showcasing a renowned lineup of award-winning chefs and rising stars from Las Vegas and California; Wineaux by James Beard Award-winning chef, Shawn McClain; among many others.

Designed by globally renowned architecture firm, Gensler, UnCommons is the first of its kind in Nevada to be built by the standards for WELL Certification, which is the highest third-party endorsement of a building’s performance and protection of employee health. Additionally, UnCommons has achieved certification from Green Globes, a nationally recognized green rating assessment, guidance and certification program.

DraftKings previously announced various agreements furthering its ties to the Las Vegas community. In particular, DraftKings established a multi-year agreement as the primary sponsor of UNLV’s Center for Gaming Innovation and opened the new DraftKings Gaming Innovation Studio at UNLV, giving DraftKings access to local talent and technology.
