Downtown Vegas New Year's Eve: 3D Glasses, Legendary Rockers1 December 1999This New Year's Eve, for the first time, downtown Las Vegas' Fremont Street Experience light and sound show will be presented in 3D, and the 30,000 plus revelers expected to gather for the event will be adorned with special ChromaDepth 3-D glasses. Legendary rockers Starship, The Guess Who, Creedence Clearwater Revisited, and REO Speedwagon will perform live on dual stages at opposite ends of the pedestrian promenade. The event begins at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31. Tons of confetti will be dropped, thousands of party favors will distributed, and dance music will be pumped throughout the 540,000-watt sound system. The light show is derived from over 2 million lights 90 feet above Fremont Street, Tickets for the event are $100. They are also available for $90 at six downtown casinos: Fitzgerald's, Four Queens, Fremont, Golden Gate, Golden Nugget and Lady Luck. Guests purchasing the $90.00 tickets will receive a free "Y2K Approved To Party" t-shirt, compliments of the Fremont Street Experience. Gates open at 3 p.m. Starship and The Guess Who will return to the Fremont Street Experience on Saturday, Jan. 1, for a free encore performance from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. For more information see www.vegasexperience.com. |
