Downs expansion could create $120 million for economy29 February 2012BATAVIA, New York -- An economic impact study suggests that the local economy could benefit to the tune of $120 million if Batavia Downs racetrack is permitted to operate a full casino at the racetrack, according to The Daily News. The study also suggested that 575 jobs could be created by such an expansion, the report said. In order for an expansion to take place, however, a consititutional amendment would be required by the legislature, The Daily News report said. |
