Dover Downs announces $100,000 Delaware Poker Championship

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The $100,000-guaranteed Delaware Poker Championship highlights a massive Championship Weekend of seven elite events at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino's Poker Room from Aug. 31-Sept. 5. The $100,000 Delaware Poker Championship tournament runs Sept. 2-4.

For the first time, the $100,000-guaranteed Delaware Poker Championship, which has a buy-in of $560, will feature two Flights for the opening levels. Flight A is Friday, Sept. 2 at 10:15 a.m. and Flight B is Saturday, Sept. 3 at 10:15 a.m. Players who are knocked out in Flight A will have the option to re-buy for Flight B or another chance at earning some of the $100,000 prize pool.

The remaining players in the no-limit Texas Hold'em event following the two opening Flights come together on Sunday, Sept. 4 to conclude the $100,000-guaranteed tournament. Players receive 30,000 in tournament chips to start the event and blind levels rise every 30 minutes.

There are four satellite tournaments scheduled for the $100,000 Delaware Poker Championship, with entries of $65 and starting stacks of 7,500 tournament chips with 12-minute levels. One out of every 10 participants will win a seat into Flight A. Players who play multiple satellites and win more than one seat may use the second seat for Flight B. Only the larger of the two chip stacks earned from Flights A & B will move on to the second day of the tournament. The satellite schedule for the $100,000 Delaware Poker Championship is:
  • Monday, Aug. 29; Tuesday, Aug. 30 and Wednesday, Aug. 31, 7:15 p.m.
  • Thursday, Sept. 1, 11:15 a.m.

Satellite players can purchase 2,500 in additional tournament chips for $5 prior to receiving their first hand. Players who re-enter have the same option.

Five additional no-limit Texas Hold'em tournaments, including a $10,000-guaranteed "Black Chip Bounty" event, and one Pot-Limit Omaha tournament will also be offered during the Championship Weekend.

The Championship Weekend tournament schedule includes:
  • "Beat The Boss" Kickoff-Wednesday, Aug. 31, 11:15 a.m. $5,000 guaranteed, $115 buy-in, 20-minute blinds, 10,000 starting stack, features $500 "Beat The Boss" bonus. Up to 10 Dover Downs Hotel & Casino employees will participate. Players who eliminate a casino employee receive a $500 bonus.
  • Pot-Limit Omaha Championship-Thursday, Sept. 1, 7:15 p.m. $5,000 guaranteed, $115 buy-in, 20-minute blinds, 20,000 starting stack.
  • "Black Chip Bounty" Championship-Friday, Sept. 2, 7:15 p.m. $10,000 guaranteed, $225 buy-in, 25-minute blinds, 20,000 starting stack. Players receive $100 for every opponent they eliminate.
  • Turbo Championship-Saturday, Sept. 3, 7:15 p.m. $5,000 guaranteed, $75 buy-in, 15-minute blinds, 20,000 starting stack.
  • Deep Stack Championship-Sunday, Sept. 4, 7:15 p.m. $5,000 guaranteed, $115 buy-in, 20-minute blinds, 25,000 starting stack
  • Finale-Monday, Sept. 5, 11:15 a.m. $5,000 guaranteed, $45 buy-in, 15-minute blinds, 10,000 starting stack
