Donnie Iris to appear at Rivers Casino12 July 2016(PRESS RELEASE) -- Donnie Iris, 70s music icon, will make a special visit to his hometown to perform at the Rivers Casino amphitheater on Aug. 13 at 8 p.m. Tickets are on sale now for $15. Iris skyrocketed in the music business as part of The Jaggerz. He then helped form the band Wild Cherry, who wrote and recorded the hit "Play That Funky Music, White Boy." After Wild Cherry's run, Iris moved on to form Donnie Iris and the Cruisers, who are famous for their single "Ah! Leah!" and toured with artists such as Journey, Bryan Adams, Foreigner and Bon Jovi. "Donnie Iris is a classic talent that audiences of all ages recognize and appreciate," said Craig Clark, general manager of Rivers Casino. "We are lucky to have such a universal talent from Pittsburgh, and we are excited to have him perform at Rivers."
