Doherty, Corrigan launch Irish Winter Festival

23 October 2013

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Sporting greats and poker enthusiasts Ken Doherty and Reggie Corrigan helped launch the Paddy Power Poker Irish Winter Festival on Wednesday, which will take place at the DoubleTree By Hilton, Dublin from Oct. 25-28.

Over the course of the four-day, festival poker players will have the opportunity to compete in nine different tournaments, including the €1,125 buy-in IWF Main Event which has an estimated prize pool of about €400,000.

Away from the poker tables, participants will have plenty to keep them entertained with a fancy dress competition and a pool tournament taking place on Saturday, while Sunday sees the return of the infamous beer pong event.

"Participants will be asked to get into the spirit of Halloween early by dressing up on Saturday with the best dressed winning a free seat at the Irish Open valued at €2,250," said a Paddy Power spokesperson. "Theres something for everyone at this year's Irish Winter Festival with the country's top poker talent competing at the main event and plenty to keep spectators entertained away from the tables."
