D'IBERVILLE, Mississippi – As reported by the Mississippi Sun Herald: "A crowd of nearly 200 residents broke into smiles and hearty applause Tuesday night after Planning Commission members unanimously approved a zoning request that paves the way for casino development in the city's southeastern section.

"A zoning overlay, presented by the city administration, will allow construction of casinos, restaurants, and other developments in the Old Town section that was devastated by Hurricane Katrina. While it broadens the potential uses of property, the overlay does not affect current zoning or residents' abilities to rebuild on their land.
