DiamondJacks Casino & Hotel will close for two weeks

13 March 2020

DiamondJacks Casino & Hotel will close for two weeks beginning 16 March. Below is a statement from Executive Vice President and General Manager Paul Hutchens:

"The health and safety of our employees and guests is our top priority. While there have not been any known COVID-19 cases at the DiamondJacks property, DiamondJacks Casino & Hotel will close today, Monday, March 16 at 10p.m. We are taking action out of an abundance of caution as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to elevate concerns across our nation and around the world, as well as abiding by directives set forth by Gov. John Bel Edwards, the Louisiana Gaming Control Board, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO).

All casino and hotel employees will be paid for this upcoming two-week period. DiamondJacks’s employees have been encouraged to seek medical attention if they experience symptoms consistent with COVID-19.

Guests will have until 11a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, to check out of the hotel. Plans to keep the RV park open will be soon shared; however, there will be no pavilion or casino services during the duration of the facility’s closure.

We see this as a preventative duty to our local friends, neighbors and employees. We are here for members of the larger Shreveport community and its visitors, and ready to welcome our employees and guests back when we re-open our doors soon.

Thank you for being a valued guest.

Paul Hutchens
