Diamond Jo Casino Welcomes New GM

NORTHWOOD, Iowa – As reported by the Albert Lea Tribune: "For the new general manager of Diamond Jo Casino, moving to Iowa was like a homecoming.

"Jesus Aviles, 52, has been working in casino management for 33 years. He meant to get a job to pay his way through college, but fell in love with the business and found a lifelong career instead.

"He and his wife, Aida, lived in Sioux City, Iowa, for 4 1/2 years, where he managed Penn National Gaming's Argosy Sioux City. He took a job in Atlantic City for about a year, but the couple decided to return to Iowa.

"…His plan for the Diamond Jo off Interstate 35 Exit 214 near Northwood focuses on community.

"…He hopes to hire mostly from the region and in all more than 300 employees, with a payroll of $6 million…"
