Developers keen on Yarmouth

YARMOUTH, England – As reported by the UK Business: "Yarmouth has seen a surge of interest from developers after winning the right to build one of eight large casinos across the country.

"Since the announcement on January 30, borough regeneration officer David Stannard has had nine inquiries from developers, agents and landowners keen to bid for the casino licence.

"…Some of the fresh interest relates to sites away from the seafront, although it is thought most likely that the battle to build the casino will come down to a two-horse race between a scheme by the Aspinall Group and the Henry Boot development company on Pleasure Beach-owned land and a Golden Mile site owned by the council.

"Five companies have put forward casino-centred schemes costing up to £50m for the Golden Mile and Barry Stone, the council's cabinet member for the economy, believes further proposals will emerge now the resort has secured the licence..."
