Developer proposes Indiana casino

GARY, Indiana -- As reported by the Gary Post-Tribune: "A Crown Point developer told Gary's state legislators in a closed-door meeting last week that he wants to build an Indian casino in the city, according to those present.

"But Rep. Charlie Brown and Sen. Earline Rogers, both D-Gary, said the idea is a long-shot.

"...Neil Fribley of Northwest Indiana Consultants LLC met with Brown and Rogers in Gary last week to update them on a project that could include a new teaching hospital and two new hotels in Gary.

"...Brown and Rogers said Fribley told the group he wants to build an Indian casino at the site as part of the second phase in a development agreement with the Gary Redevelopment Commission..."
