Detroit Casino Petition Rejected26 March 2004DETROIT, Michigan — The Wayne County Election Commission rejected petitions Thursday for the recall of Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and five members of the Detroit City Council. "…Robert Thomas, 69, of Detroit filed identical petitions against Alonzo Bates, Kenneth Cockrel Jr., Sheila Cockrel, Kay Everett and Alberta Tinsley-Talabi. Thomas opposes their 2002 vote to revise development agreements with Greektown, MotorCity and MGM casinos.
