Delaware Park Casino celebrate 30 years of slot machines25 December 2025(PRESS RELEASE) -- The 30th anniversary of slot machine gaming marks a significant milestone, not only for Delaware casinos but also their staff, visitors, and the state. Delaware Park Casino has devoted all of December to celebrate this anniversary—from employee recognitions to large giveaways and events for guests. On 29 December 1995, slot machine gaming was officially introduced at Delaware Park Casino. Since then, the casino has expanded its offerings to nearly 1,900 of the most popular and sought-after slot machines, continuing to upgrade inventory to offer visitors the best gaming experience. Additionally, the casino recently introduced a new outdoor slot patio, allowing visitors to experience a change of scenery from the indoor environment. Delaware Park Casino & Racing is capping off the month-long celebration by awarding one lucky guest with slot dollars for life, with a $1 million winner guaranteed. Guests can earn entries by playing slots and tables with their Player’s Cards, now through Saturday, 27 December. At 10 p.m., the $1Million winner will be announced. Finalists will each receive slot dollar prizes. “Delaware Park Casino has a proud and storied history here in the First State, but we always have our eyes focused on the future,” said Terry Glebocki, President and General Manager of Delaware Park Casino. “The recent first-floor renovation, opening the slot patio, and holding family-friendly events year-round are all ways we want to provide not just exciting entertainment but a sense of community for all our guests.” Delaware Park Casino is one of three Delaware casinos that has helped to increase Delaware’s tourism rates and boost the state’s overall economy. According to the American Gaming Association, total statewide commercial casino gaming revenue was $554.5 Million in 2024. This is a 10.4% increase from 2023. And in December 2025 alone, there have been almost $6 Million dollars in jackpot payouts so far at Delaware Park. Earlier this month, Delaware Park Casino hosted an employee celebration that also recognized the 40-plus staff members who have been with the casino for 30 years or more. All employees received custom Delaware Park jerseys to wear in honor of the 30th-anniversary milestone. “When you take a step back, it really is something that we have over 40 employees who have worked at Delaware Park Casino for more than 30 years,” said Glebocki. “We were thrilled to be able to honor them as well as all of our staff for their hard work and dedication.” In addition to being open on Christmas Day, Delaware Park will wrap up its holiday and anniversary festivities on December 31 with a blast back to 1995 during the New Year’s Eve party in the Independence and Liberty rooms. Guests will ring in the new year and enjoy a champagne toast as the clock hits midnight. |
