Delaware Park Casino breaks ground on $5 million expansion21 October 2024(PRESS RELEASE) -- Delaware Park Casino & Racing recently broke ground on a $5 million expansion, announcing plans for a nearly 10,000-square-foot outdoor slot patio. The new space will provide guests with more than 250 of the latest and most popular slot machines, in an open-air environment. “We look forward to offering Delaware’s largest outdoor slot patio,” said Terry Glebocki, Delaware Park Casino’s President and General Manager. “This spacious new patio is designed with our guests in mind. They will soon be able to enjoy the outdoors while playing the area’s best selection of slots, all without compromising comfort or excitement.” Located adjacent to the casino’s racetrack, the patio will be heated in the winter, allowing for year-round enjoyment of this new space. Designed by WATG-SOSH and being constructed by DiSabatino Construction of Delaware, the patio is expected to be completed by spring 2025. “We are excited to partner with Delaware Park Casino on a project that will bring expanded services to the patrons of Delaware Park Casino,” said Jeff DiSabatino, Vice President of Construction, DiSabatino Construction. “This collaboration brings two strong Delaware businesses together—creating and keeping jobs here in the First State.” This expansion comes right on the heels of Delaware Park’s $10 million renovation of its main casino floor, which features state-of-the-art slot titles, high-limit table games, enhanced dining options and a modern design—creating one of the most compelling casino experiences in the region. “For decades, Delaware Park Casino has been a defining part of Delaware’s entertainment landscape,” said Helene Keeley, Director of the Delaware Lottery, which regulates gaming in the state. “Projects such as the recent main floor renovation and now this patio expansion show their commitment to not only their local community, but to an investment long-term that will benefit all statewide.” Beginning 8 November, table games will join the first-floor slots as a round-the-clock offering, open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. “The move to 24-hour slot operations was well received by our guests and has encouraged players from out of the area to experience all the excitement we have to offer,” said Glebocki. “With the addition of 24/7 table games, we hope to see many more players join us for what promises to be an exciting holiday season.” Delaware Park Casino has a variety of events planned to round out 2024, including: Boo! Bar at LIT—Halloween Pop-Up Bar - Fridays and Saturdays through 26 October, from 6 p.m. to midnight (DJs from 8 p.m. to midnight). Holiday Tree Decorating Contest - Guests can vote for their favorite decorated tree. - There will also be a silent auction to purchase the trees, with proceeds benefiting the Food Bank of Delaware. Festival of Lights - Free, family-friendly outdoor light display alongside a festive holiday market with crafts and other items for sale, including specialty food and drinks, plus photo opportunities with Santa! Every Friday and Saturday, 29 November to 21 December, from 4 to 10 p.m. LIT Pop-Up Bar for the Holidays - Every Friday and Saturday in December, from 6 p.m. to midnight (DJs from 8 p.m. to midnight). |
