Delaware Legislation Looks at Legalizing Table Games

DELAWARE – As reported by the Dover Post: "State legislators in a General Assembly session already crowded with proposals to expand gambling have now sponsored a bill to legalize table games in Delaware.

"Like the sports betting bill introduced earlier this month, the table games bill was proposed as a preemptive strike to save Delaware's gambling industry as Pennsylvania's slot operations come online and the threat of Maryland approving slots still looms.

"'The issue is Delaware will lose substantial revenue from our present slot machine locations,' said state Sen. Robert I. Marshall, D-Wilmington West, the primary sponsor of Senate Bill 174.

"…Games permitted under SB 174 include roulette and any game played with playing cards or dice including, but not limited to, baccarat, blackjack, poker and craps…"
