Emerging from the South Bronx in the early 1970s, Grandmaster Flash is inarguably one of hip hop’s original innovators. In the earliest days of the genre, he manipulated music by placing his fingers on the vinyl, perfected beat looping, and discovered many of the most iconic beats still commonly sampled today.

It’s no surprise that The New York Times calls him hip hop’s first virtuoso. Today, he’s the voice of an entire generation of 1970s hip hop pioneers. He has released dozens of singles, both solo and with his group The Furious Five. From his electric live shows, to his production role on Netflix’ The Get Down, Grandmaster Flash is at once a historian, a storyteller, and a cultural force. In 2007, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the first rap group to ever receive the honor.

Fifty years since Cream’s earth-shaking debut album, The Music of Cream come together to pay tribute to the band’s legendary four-album reign of the late 1960s. Kofi Baker (son of drummer Ginger Baker) and Malcolm Bruce (son of Cream singer-bassist Jack Bruce) unite with Will Johns (nephew of Eric Clapton and son of Zeppelin/ Stones/ Hendrix engineer Andy Johns) to pay tribute to the music of Cream. Fans can feel the fire and freedom of “Spoonful,” “Strange Brew,” “Sunshine of Your Love,” “White Room,” and “Crossroads” — performed by master musicians whose lives have been steeped in the Cream spirit and legacy.

Color Me Badd is one of the top R&B vocal groups of all time singing hit singles “I Wanna Sex You Up,” “I Adore Mi Amor,” “All 4 Love” and “Thinkin’ Back.” The group has sold 12 million records in the US with their debut album, C.M.B. selling more than 6 million copies worldwide, becoming certified triple platinum in the US. In April 2018 “I Want to Sex You Up,” was named one of the 100 Greatest Boy Band Songs of All Time by Billboard critics.

Chippendales are seen by more than 2 million people worldwide each year and now the Finger Lakes region has a chance to see the popular Las Vegas show performed at The Vine. Through the quality of its staging and choreography, the Chippendales are a popular, highly entertaining show not to be missed. The company produces a Broadway-style burlesque show perfect for a girls night out.
