Defendants Sentenced in Binion Case5 October 2000LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Oct. 5, 2000—As reported by The Associated Press: “The twisted tale of lust, greed and buried treasure surrounding the death of gambling figure Ted Binion came to a quiet end Thursday with the sentencing of the final four defendants. ”David Mattsen and Michael Milot pleaded no contest to conspiracy to commit grand larceny, a misdemeanor. . ”…Steven Wadkins and John B. Joseph pleaded no contest to conspiracy to commit extortion, also a misdemeanor. Prosecutors accused them of concocting an extortion plot with Tabish against a sand pit owner two months before Binion died. ”…All four must perform 200 hours of community service or pay |
