Debby Boone to perform at Suncoast Showroom

23 November 2016

(PRESS RELEASE) -- “You Light Up My Life” songstress and multi-talented entertainer Debby Boone will return to the Suncoast Showroom with “Swing This,” her captivating new performance, on 9-10 December.

In 1977, Boone’s career took off when her song “You Light Up My Life” topped the Billboard chart for 10 consecutive weeks and won her a Grammy Award for Best New Artist. In 2008, Billboard’s 50th Anniversary All-Time Chart-Topping Songs ranked Boone’s song at #7.

Following the success of the single, Boone displayed her versatility as an artist and crossed over to country music. She won the Academy of Country Music award for Top New Female Vocalist in 1977 and recorded many popular country songs, including “In Memory of Your Love” and a cover of Connie Francis’ “My Heart Has a Mind of Its Own.”

In 1978, Boone starred in her first film, playing “Della” in the musical adaptation of “The Gift of The Magi.” She took her show-stopping performances to stage in many more musicals, including a run as “Rizzo” in the Broadway version of “Grease,” and “Maria” in “The Sound of Music.”

In June 2013, Boone released her 13th album, “Swing This,” which combines songs and experiences from the golden era of Las Vegas during the 1960’s, when her father Pat Boone performed at the Sands and Sahara hotels.

Showtime is 8:30 p.m. each night. Tickets are available from $17.50 plus taxes and fees, and can be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000, online at Suncoast Hotel and casino, or in-person at gift shops inside The Orleans, Suncoast, Gold Coast Hotel and Casino, and Sam’s Town Hotel & Gambling Hall. Tickets may also be purchased the day of the show (depending on availability) at the venue box office.
