Deadline Nears for West Virginia Bill5 April 2005WEST VIRGINIA – As reported by the Charleston Daily Mail: "With a Wednesday deadline for action approaching, legislators say the fate of table games legislation depends on what happens with an insurance reform bill. "If the House Judiciary Committee approves the insurance measure today or Wednesday, then members will address table games, said Delegate Joe DeLong, D-Hancock. "The expanded gambling bill would have to be considered and approved by the committee on Wednesday, at the latest, to move on before the end of the session Saturday night. "DeLong said he believes it may squeak out of committee for a vote. "…House Republicans Charles Trump and Tim Armstead predict it will be a close call, with most Republicans opposing the measure…" |
