D.C. Casino Backers in Debt

WASHINGTON, DC – As reported by the Washington Post: "The money has dried up for backers of a failed campaign to build a casino in D.C.

"…The committee formed to promote the gambling measure has about $3,000 remaining in its coffers - but owes nearly $600,000, mostly to attorneys.

"…The committee's latest filing shows the flow of money has stopped since the gambling initiative failed to make the ballot…"
