Crown casino plans hotel expansion1 October 2007AUSTRALIA -- As reported by the Australia News: "The biggest hotel in Australia will be built at Southbank as part of a $540 million expansion of Melbourne's Crown Casino complex. "Construction on Crown's third hotel, a 27-storey curved building on Clarendon St, will begin as early as this month. "Crown also announced a $40-million extension of its convention centre, a $65 million revamp for Crown Towers hotel rooms and a $140-million upgrade of the casino gaming areas. "The $300-million third hotel, yet to be named, will have 658 rooms, bringing the total number of rooms in the Crown precinct to 1600..." |
