Crown Casino May Sponsor Library

AUSTRALIA – As reported by the Australia Age: "Anti-gambling campaigners are furious at a sponsorship plan to stamp Crown Casino's logo inside library books.

"The deal, between Crown Casino and the City Library, might also see Crown Casino signs inside the Flinders Lane library.

"…The library, which could find itself $400,000 short this financial year, spoke to the casino last month about sponsorship.

"'City Library and Crown Casino have met and have spoken about a potential sponsorship proposal,' library spokesman Vince Keogh confirmed. 'We are looking at signage and book purchases, which could include their name being identified in the front or back of library books. But there is no formal proposal on the table at the moment.'

"…The library said it would not publicly discuss details of sponsorship until after a board meeting on October 5…"
