Cricket in crisis after allegations of Pakistan match fixing

30 August 2010

ENGLAND AND PAKISTAN -- Cricket has been thrown into a major crisis by match fixing claims this weekend, The Guardian reported.

Three cell phones belong to Pakistan's cricket team players were taken by British police, along with documents, The Guardian said.

The allegations hinge on "three no-balls" (where the bowler steps over the line), the report said.

The suspected 35 year old match fixer, caught in a tabloid newspaper sting, was arrested and released on bail without charge, The Guardian report said.

The news has stunned the cricket world.
