Craig Morgan to headline Beats & Bites at Riverwind Casino28 June 2016(PRESS RELEASE) -- Country music star Craig Morgan will make a stop in Norman at Riverwind Casino's Beats & Bites festival Saturday, July 9. The family-friendly event will also feature a fireworks show at dusk. The July edition will be open to the public from 6 to 11 p.m. and be held in the casino's west parking lot, located at 1544 State Highway 9 in Norman. Jack Parkinson, Riverwind's general manager, expects the headlining musician and fireworks show to draw a large crowd and continue the growing interest in this monthly festival. "The festival grows by at least 1,000 people each month," Parkinson said. "In June, we had more than 5,000 guests at Beats & Bites. It's great to see the community come out and enjoy the free event." The headlining entertainer Craig Morgan said he is looking forward to performing for his Oklahoma fans. "Beats & Bites is a great event for the community," Morgan said. "We are going to make some awesome new summer memories together at this show." Bands play on the main entertainment stage beginning at 6:30 p.m. and music ends at 11 p.m. In addition to Craig Morgan, the Jason Young Band will perform. On July 9, guests can purchase food and beverages from the following food trucks: Chef Ray's Street Eats; Dippin' Dots; Nacho Biznez; Phill Me Up Cheesesteaks; St. Paddy Cakes; The Candy Basket; Kona Ice; Klemm's Smoke Haus; A Latte Love Coffee House; The Flying Pig BBQ; The Saucee Sicilian; Coit's Food Truck; That Pie Truck; Murphy's Smoke Shack; Epic Pops; That Pie Truck; Ice Events Center & Grill; The Brown's Kitchen; and MMP Concessions. Festivalgoers can also visit vendors offering local merchandise, body henna and face painting. There will be a bounce house area for children, the cost to enter is $5. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to the event and can bring umbrellas for shade. Pets and outside food and beverages are prohibited. Beats & Bites will also be held on Aug. 6. Festival attendees who want to visit the Riverwind Casino during or after Beats & Bites are welcome, but those visiting the casino floor must be 18 years or older. |
