Court Upholds New Trial in Binion Murder Case

CARSON CITY, Nevada – As reported by the Associated Press: "The Nevada Supreme Court declined Friday to review its decision last July granting a new trial for one-time topless dancer Sandy Murphy and her lover, Richard Tabish, on charges of robbing and killing former Las Vegas casino executive and heroin addict Ted Binion.

"The court, without comment, rejected a petition from the Clark County district attorney's office to review the 4-3 ruling that had favored Murphy, who lived with Binion, and Tabish.

"In overturning murder, robbery and burglary convictions, the Supreme Court said a trial judge erred in letting the prosecution go forward on the murder charges and related charges involving the theft of a fortune in silver Binion stored in an underground vault in Pahrump…"
