Court ruling may see a Lansing casino

28 May 2014

LANSING, Michigan -- A Supreme Court decision could be good news for gamblers in Lansing, according to a Michigan Radio report.

The court threw out the state's attempt to shut down an off-reservation tribal casino, ruling that the Bay Mills tribe had sovereign immunity, the report said.

The Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians want to build a $245 million casino in Lansing, which this decision may help, the Michigan Radio noted.
