County studies Bethlehem casino impact8 January 2007EASTON, Pennsylvania – As reported by the New Jersey Express Times: "Northampton County Executive John Stoffa is creating a committee to study the possible effects of a Bethlehem casino on the county's human services, prison and court systems. "Sands BethWorks Gaming LLC won a state casino license in December for the former Bethlehem Steel Corp. site. The company expects to open a 3,000-slot casino in mid-2008. "Stoffa said he doesn't think the county must try to prepare for all of the effects gambling will have on the county…" |
